The wind is wild

 The wind is wild

The wind is wild and cool

The waves are white and angry

But the stones still warm and welcoming

Along the coastal path of Playa Blanca.

The tide advances over rocks

Of different colors revealing

A history that is millions

Of decades in the making.

The sun is dancing ‘tween

The clouds that waltz along

As evening comes the west lights up

With pink and green and violet hues.

Night sinks in and the wind still howls

Doors shake and windows tremble

Our lullaby a bracing breeze

In rhythm with the waves below.

The dawn has come, a new sun rises

Dazzling on the ocean blue

The heat bears down in quiet corners

Young and old shed a layer or two.

The miracle of travel that allows

The lucky few escape the rain

Leave cold shores and in four hours

Arrive in heaven called sunny Spain.
